LGBT 101 INTRODUCTION TO LGBTQ STUDIES (3)

Interdisciplinary and cross-cultural examination of sexual orientation and gender identity. Course topics include institutionalized heterosexism, cisphobia and homophobia, LGBTQ, communities, culture, and political activism. Students who have successfully completed IDIS 101 or LGBT 101 will not receive additional credit for LGBT 101. Core: Diversity & Difference.

LGBT 381 READINGS IN LGBTQ STUDIES (1-3)

A survey of relevant research literature under the guidance of a staff member who will direct the student's research. May be repeated for 6 units. Prerequisite: 6 units of course work in the LGBTQ minor or consent of instructor.

LGBT 470 SPECIAL TOPICS IN LGBTQ STUDIES (3)

Survey and critical examination of current research and literature in LGBTQ studies. May be repeated for a maximum of 9 units with a different topic. Prerequisite: LGBT 101 or consent of instructor.

LGBT 485 INTERNSHIP IN LGBTQ STUDIES (3-6)

Supervised internship experience in the field of LGBTQ Studies under the direction of a faculty member. May be repeated for a maximum of 9 units, but only 6 units can be applied to the LGBTQ Studies minor. Prerequisite: 6 units of course work in the LGBTQ Studies minor or consent of instructor.

LGBT 491 INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATIONS IN LGBTQ STUDIES (3)

Research problems under the direction of a faculty member. May be repeated for a maximum of 6 units. Prerequisites: 6 units of course work in the LGBTQ Studies minor, or consent of instructor.
