General Parking Information

  • Permit rates for the upcoming academic year are available on the Parking website in May. Permit sales typically begin in August.
  • Vehicles parked on campus Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., must display a valid TU permit or use designated visitor/short-term spaces and pay the applicable fee.
  • Reserved parking spaces are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • The university uses a License Plate Recognition (LPR) system for enforcement. This system scans license plates to verify an active permit is associated with the vehicle.
  • Vehicles without a valid TU permit or parked outside designated areas may be cited or towed.
  • Regulations may vary based on enrollment status or change throughout the year. To view current rules, visit the Parking website.
  • Permits are not required on official university holidays when the campus is closed. Signs at each parking garage or lot will indicate restrictions.
  • Non-Maryland Residents for students attending school for a period in excess of 60 days, please visit the MVA website for information on non-resident permits. 

On-Campus Resident Student Parking

  • Resident student restrictions may apply based on enrollment status. 
  • On-campus residents without a valid TU permit may not keep a vehicle on campus at any time.

Off-Campus/Commuter Student Parking

  • Commuter student parking may also be subject to restrictions based on enrollment status.

Visitor Parking

  • Visitors must obtain an hourly or daily Visitor Parking via the pay by phone app.
  • Those attending official Admissions tours should follow specific instructions provided during tour registration.

Transportation Services

  • TU provides on- and off-campus shuttle service throughout the fall and spring semesters, as well as modified service during winter, summer, and spring breaks.
  • No fare is required; however, a valid TU OneCard is necessary to ride off-campus routes.

  • Additional services include:
    • Safe Ride and SafeWalk: On-demand transportation and walking escort services, available 7 days a week.
    • Baltimore Collegetown, and MTA Transit: Connects TU to Downtown Baltimore and nearby institutions.  
    • Baltimore County "The Loop": Offers local service within the Towson area. Details are available at The Loop website.

Para Transit Services

Para-transit service is available for students registered with Accessibility and Disability Services (ADS) or for faculty and staff registered with the Office of Human Resources. The service offers on-campus pick-ups and transportation to faculty, staff, students, and guests with certified para-transit needs. Call 410-704-RIDE (7433) or email uride@towson.edu
