The Minor in Marketing is housed in the Department of Marketing.
Marketing sits at the heart of every successful organization. It's how businesses figure out who their customers are, what they actually want, and how to build relationships that keep them coming back. In a world where attention is currency, knowing how to create and communicate real value is a superpower.
The Marketing Minor helps students build these skills — without needing to switch their major.
Through courses like Professional Selling, Global Marketing, and Consumer Behavior, students will develop a clear understanding of how consumers make decisions and how marketers ethically and effectively influence those decisions. Electives like Sustainable Marketing, Sales Leadership, and Integrated Marketing Communications let students tailor the minor to their interests, whether they are passionate about social impact, professional selling, or brand storytelling.
The Marketing Minor is open to students from any major, except for those majoring in marketing. Regardless of whether students are studying psychology, communications, or computer science, the marketing skills they will acquire through the minor will increase the value of their degree and expand their professional skill set.
This 21-unit minor is available to students who have a major other than Marketing. The Marketing minor normally takes at least 3 terms to complete beginning with MKTG 341 or MKTG 342.
