Administrator Licensure
Towson University offers three programs that meet the Maryland Department of Education (MSDE) requirements for the Administrator license. This license, in addition to a master's degree, is a requirement for supervisors, assistant principals and principals. Completion of the programs listed below will result in a statement printed on the student’s transcript to indicate successful completion of a Maryland Approved Program for the Administrator license. Students must apply directly to MSDE for licensure.
There are three ways to get the Administrator license:
- Complete the master's degree in Transformational Educational Leadership (M.S.).
- Complete the 18-unit (6 courses) post-Master's Educational Administrator I Certificate (PBC).
- Complete the 30-unit, post-Master's Organizational Change Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS).
